A History of Meldreth School, 2000 - 2009

In 2000, the school celebrated its 90th birthday and said goodbye to Mrs Brown the headteacher and two long-serving governors.

Mrs Dorothy Brown, who had been headteacher for twelve years and one term, retired in July 2000.  She wrote,
“This has been a turbulent time in education but I have been privileged to work with some dedicated professionals and excellent support staff.  The school has enjoyed wonderful support from the Governors and PTA over the years.  Meldreth will always have a special place in my heart and I leave with very best wishes to everyone concerned for the future success of the school.”

The year also saw the retirement of Margaret Hunter and Keith Humphreys, who had served as governors for twelve and twenty-seven years respectively.
