The following report appeared in the Royston Crow on 18th February 1927.

It is with much regret we record the death of Mrs Harriet Adcock which took place on Feb. 8th, after only a few days’ illness.  Mrs Adcock was a thorough business woman and had carried on the bakery business since her husband’s death 26 years ago, and she will be much missed in the village.

The funeral took place on Friday last, the first part of the service being conducted at the house by the Rev. P. Harvey, who also performed the committal at the cemetery.

The chief mourners were: Miss Lizzie Adcock, Mr Arthur Adcock, Mr William Adcock, (daughter and sons), Mrs A Adcock (daughter-in-law), Miss A Howard, Litlington (niece) and Mrs H Adcock.  There were also present at the cemetery – Mr C Warren, Mrs Brightman, Mrs F Mead and many others.

Floral tributes were sent as follows:-
In loving memory of our dear mother, Will and Lizzie
In living memory from Arthur and Mary and family
