Non-conformism

In this section you will find information about the origins of religious non-conformism in Meldreth from the seventeenth century onwards and how it grew in importance, both in the village and surrounding area. There are also accounts of how Meldreth’s two non-conformist chapels - the Wesleyan Methodist and Congregational - came into being and the part they played in village life before their eventual closure.
