James Raymond Howard (1919 - 1943)

James Howard was the son of Alwyne and Evelyn Howard of Chiswick End, Meldreth.  He was born in 1919 and attended Meldreth School from 1924 until 1927.

During the Second World War, he served as Lieutenant 200204 in the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons), Royal Armoured Corps.  He died on Thursday 16th September 1943 at the age of 24 and is buried in Salerno War Cemetery, Italy.  Grave I. A. 44.
