Ken Winter's Memories

I was lucky. I grew up in a lovely village with a fabulous group of boys. We were all friends and most of us have remained friends to this day. Our early years were during the war and we all attended Meldreth Primary School. None of us passed the 11+ so we all moved to Melbourn Secondary School and mainly kept together as a group while there.

We shared many hobbies, pastimes and experiences together and it was a pity that many of us had to move away. However, due to the Meldreth Local History Group, some of us are returning to remember and to write about old times. I hope my memories of Meldreth and our times together, plus a few of my diary entries, will be of interest.
