Introduction Abbis Worland was born in Ashwell, Hertfordshire on 29th February 1872. His parents were Abbis Worland (b. 1834 in Meldreth) and Mary Ann Worland, nee Driver (b. 1843 in Meldreth). Abbis was born in Meldreth. His parents were William Worland and Susan(nah) Worland (nee Chappell). Abbis was baptised in Holy Trinity Church, Meldreth on 10th August 1834. William Worland was born on 9th December 1809 and was baptised at Holy Trinity Church, Meldreth on 8th July 1810. He was one of seven children born to his parents, Abbis Worland and Elizabeth Worland (nee Cornish). Abbis Worland was the son of Thomas Worland and Mary Habbis. He was baptised in Holy Trinity Church, Meldreth on 21st October 1781.
